Nottingham, May 27, 2026 - Frontier Space, a UK-based leader in in-space R&D and biomanufacturing platforms, and g-SPACE, a San Francisco-based software company pioneering biotech growth in microgravity, today announced a strategic partnership to advance the integration of biotechnology research and in-space manufacturing across low Earth orbit (LEO). Their end-to-end integrated solution combines Frontier Space’s in-orbit platforms and transportation capabilities with g-SPACE’s expertise in microgravity-enabled life sciences research. Together, the companies aim to provide commercial, academic, and government customers with end-to-end access to
space-based biomanufacturing, from experimental design and payload integration to post-return analysis.
“Partnering with g-SPACE is a pivotal step in industrialising microgravity R&D for the biopharma industry,” said Dr Aqeel Shamsul, CEO of Frontier Space. “By integrating their physics-informed AI/ML analytics platform for microgravity data into our autonomous SpaceLab missions, we aim to create a streamlined end-to-end workflow that powers our combined vision of transforming one-off experiments into routine orbital biomanufacturing operations. The collaboration will deliver the reliable data infrastructure needed to scale high-value production, from protein crystallisation to cell therapies, establishing Frontier Space as the go-to platform for life sciences in orbit, serving both agencies and commercial leaders.”
g-SPACE is a leader in developing an ML-powered platform that allows biotech researchers and pharmaceutical companies to translate terrestrial R&D into microgravity conditions, where cellular behaviour, protein folding, and crystallisation exhibit unique properties. This partnership will extend those capabilities with routine access to orbit through Frontier’s modular orbital platforms.
“Running Microgravity experiments today requires multiple and expensive space flights with long timelines to get to the ultimate, most valuable step: the quantification and visualisation of Microgravity. Utilising g-SPACE’s AI analytics provides many benefits that will accelerate and de-risk your Microgravity R&D campaign. For example, automatic extraction of data in-flight allows for real-time tracking and optimisation of experiment performance from Earth. We are very excited to partner with Frontier Space, a leader in Microgravity R&D hardware, so we can provide customers with the most efficient platform to conduct their research,” said Dr Ioana Cozmuta, CEO, g-SPACE Inc.
